Quick Tips For Bathroom Renovations

Have you done all of the home improvements throughout the year and need to make one last pit stop before your home is complete?

Although the bathroom is such an intimate space, we often overlook the process it takes to build an impactful restroom. There are a lot of moving parts that go into making your bathroom just right for you, that is why you must start off with a list of things that are necessary for your bathroom.

For example, if you are someone who is more of a shower person, you may not need the implementation of a bathtub. To further touch on that point, if a household member loves taking baths, maybe you can look into combining the two features.

After you’ve decided on the features that you would like to have in your bathroom, it’s time to draw inspiration on how you would like the layout to be. This can be done from platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, and magazines.

Now that we’ve gone through the fun stuff and decide to hire a bunch of contractors to rip up your bathroom, it is very important that you figure out what budget you are comfortable to work with. Although you’ve set a budget, make sure to set a little extra aside (10%-20% contingency fee) for variables that could not be forecasted.

Okay, so we’ve drawn inspiration and have figured out how we would like our bathroom to look. Now it’s time to consider who we would need to hire for our bathroom makeover. Unlike other rooms in your house, your bathroom needs about 10-12 trades people to bring your vision to full life.

For example, you will need a plumber, electrician, floor installation, a company for your countertops, cabinets and the list goes on.

You must also consider the order that these people come in to do their jobs. Imagine you decide to get heated floors in your bathroom and because of lack of communication between all parties, the person that is supposed to install the coil that runs through your floor comes last, you will no longer have heated floors. This might seem extreme and obvious to most but trust us, common sense isn’t so common!

We hope everyone is staying safe during Covid-19 and we hope this blog of tips and tricks can inspire you to create something special in your home when this is all over with!
